Bellavista – Surprising Personality and Character, Grace and Lightness: The Unique Style of Franciacorta

It was born in Franciacorta in 1977 by the will of the entrepreneur Vittorio Moretti, who decided that year to transform a small wine business founded on a few hectares owned by the family into a company. They are located on the Bellavista hill, so named for the splendid position that, from a single point, embraces Lake Iseo and the entire Po valley up to the Alps. With foresight, Vittorio Moretti pays particular attention to the purchase of new vineyards up to the current 203 hectares of vineyards, included in the area of vocation of the “Franciacorta”.

Dedicated to the legendary temple of the Opera, to which the company feels close and inspired, it is the best expression of the vintage and the Bellavista style. The grapes that make up this great cuvée, mainly chardonnay and pinot noir, are the best possible, the result of a radical selection of the individual vineyards. In addition to the exceptional quality of the raw material used, this Franciacorta differs from the other Bruts in that half of the wines it is made of are aged for seven months in small oak barrels. Statuesque in terms of balance, able to support and at the same time ride the characteristics of the vintage, this Franciacorta Method impresses for intensity and complexity. Intense straw yellow in color, it has a very fine and persistent perlage, a prologue to aromas that appear to be the quintessence of the Bellavista style. Generous and elegant floral notes of hawthorn, unpredictable balsamic notes of laurel, first, candied citrus fruit and small pastries, then. The mouth is thick, firm, aristocratic, creamy and deep at the same time. Magnificent finish for cleanliness and flavor.

An unusual vintage. Spring is long and is characterized by short and light rains, while summer is mild and the snow remains for a long time in the pre-Alps.

The ripening and ripening take place in perfect conditions of sun, light and ventilation, with night temperatures below 17 ° c.

The harvest (2-18 September) was a patient waiting for the perfect and homogeneous ripening of each single bunch.

Tasting Notes

Intense straw yellow, with a very fine and persistent perlage. The nose expresses the quintessence of Bellavista thanks to an olfactory profile that is both generous and elegant. Floral notes of hawthorn, mugwort, laurel are flanked by hints of candied citrus, small pastries and sugared almonds. In the mouth it is dry, elegant, aristocratic, marked by a perfect match between freshness and softness. Sapid, it closes with a magnificent finish for cleanliness and persistence.

Pairings

A great aperitif, Bellavista’s “Gran Cuvée” is an ideal sparkling wine to accompany a risotto capable of enhancing its peculiarities, with oysters and Franciacorta-based creaming.
