Bottega S.p.A. it is at the same time a winery and a distillery, which has a close-knit team of expert winemakers both in winemaking and in distillation. The headquarters is located in Bibano di Godega (TV), in the Doc Prosecco area, 50 km north of Venice. The company was founded in 1977 by Aldo Bottega, master distiller with more than thirty years of experience in the field, which he had inherited from his grandfather, an expert wine merchant during the ’20s, the passion for the world of wine. At the end of the ’70s the company is a small company operating in the local grappa market.

In 1983, on the death of the founder, his son Sandro, together with his brothers Barbara and Stefano, took over the company. From an artisan reality, which operated only in the world of grappa, it has transformed over the years into one of the first 20 private wineries and distilleries. In the duty free and travel retail channel it has burned down the stages and, as far as sparkling wines are concerned, has become the second brand in the world, after a well-known Champagne brand. The unmistakable Bottega Gold, a Prosecco Doc characterized by the bottle with golden livery, is an icon of style that is appreciated throughout the world as an expression of the best Made in Italy.

The Distilled Bottega Grape comes from a sophisticated blend of grapes with a remarkable organoleptic heritage. The pomace, healthy and still monstrous, are distilled in three stages at different temperatures in traditional copper stills, which allow the vacuum processing (greater protection of the aromas) and in which the heating takes place in a bain-marie (indirect system and therefore more delicate) . Before bottling, it is aged in steel tanks for about 6 months, during which time the balance between the different components is restored and the angularity is softened. This results in a pure, clean and clean spirit that tickles the nose and palate with a unique and unmistakable aroma.

The quality and care of the raw material represent the first and most important step for the production of a good grappa. For this reason the healthy, fresh and vinous pomace of the varieties grown in the designated areas, are carefully preserved in order to preserve all their quality assets. The Alexander White Grappa, which derives from a blend of the best known and renowned vines of north-eastern Italy, is produced in three distillation stages carried out at different temperatures and in traditional copper stills, which allow vacuum processing (greater protection of aromas) and in which the heating takes place in a bain-marie (indirect system and therefore more delicate). In this way a soft, refined Grappa is obtained which, before bottling, is refined in steel tanks for about 6 months, during which time the aromatic profile is improved and the angularity softens.

Serving

Grappa is ideal at the end of a meal. It can be tasted cold and also very cold and is an excellent ingredient for the preparation of cocktails and long drinks. Bottega Distillato Grape blends perfectly with dark chocolate, dried fruit and can accompany dry pastries. It is traditionally used to correct espresso coffee and, in Veneto and Friuli, to dilute the last drops of coffee, left on the bottom of the cup (“resentin”): coffee has a tonic effect while alcohol relaxes and the result of this combination is a pleasant feeling of well-being and vigor.
