Fiore – Panforte of Siena since 1827 – The Heart of Siena

The history of this company is linked to an ancient knowledge, that of Siena’s spices. A knowledge that since the thirteenth century has been handed down in the monasteries and Sienese abbeys and that has found its propulsive fulcrum in the “Santa Maria della Scala”, the medieval hospital of Siena that inside it had the “College of the Medici” and one of the main spice shops organized in the city. The first processing of Panforte took place right in the back room of these ancient spice shops as they provided for the use of expensive spices in the dough.

Excellence of Fiore – The Ancient Tuscany Tradition

Excellence of Fiore is a line of pastry products that are distributed only in Tuscany, since their main characteristic is the freshness of the product.

Ricciarelli, cantuccini and panforte of “Excellences of Fiore” have the recognition of Typical Geographical Indication (PGI) and are made and wrapped by hand.

The symbol of this product line is an ancient Sienese coin: the silver sanese.

The Sanese

The Sanese is a siena coin issued in the middle of the fourteenth century, similar in mass and goodness to florence florence.

On the main facade there was a “s” leaflet, in a lobed frame with the following wording: “sena vetus civitas virginis”, while on the façade below a cross, within the frame, with the inscription: “alfa et o (mega) principiu et finis”.
